Korean Barley Tea (Boricha)

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp whole barley (hulled or pearled), roasted
  • 2 L water

Instructions

  1. Dry-roast the barley in a skillet over medium heat, stirring often, until golden-brown and fragrant (10–12 min). Let cool.
  2. Bring 2 L of water to a boil.
  3. Add the roasted barley.
  4. Simmer for 5–10 minutes (longer for a stronger flavor).
  5. Strain.
  6. Serve hot or chill and refrigerate for up to 3–4 days.
